Common questions
About this material
Answers describe what the published research examines and where the evidence is limited. They are not claims of any effect; this material is supplied for laboratory research use only.
What is BPC-157?
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic 15-amino-acid peptide based on a sequence found in a protective protein in human gastric juice. It is supplied here as an analytical-grade reference material for laboratory research use only.
How does BPC-157 work in research?
Across animal and cell studies, BPC-157 appears to accelerate the body's normal repair response — most consistently by promoting angiogenesis (new blood-vessel growth) through the VEGF pathway, and by modulating the nitric-oxide system that governs blood flow. Better blood supply to injured tissue is associated with faster, more complete healing in these models.
What has BPC-157 been studied for?
The largest bodies of research cover tendon and ligament healing, muscle and soft-tissue recovery, and protection of the stomach and intestinal lining. Nearly all of this evidence comes from animal and cell models rather than human clinical trials.
Is BPC-157 supported by human clinical trials?
Not substantially. The published evidence is overwhelmingly preclinical. Recent reviews — including a 2025 systematic review in orthopaedic sports medicine — emphasize that well-controlled human trials are still lacking, which is an important caveat when interpreting the research.
How is BPC-157 stored and reconstituted?
Keep the lyophilized powder cold and dark; reconstitute with bacteriostatic water and refrigerate the solution at about 2-8 °C, avoiding repeated freeze-thaw cycles. See the VNG reconstitution guide for the concentration math.
