Common questions
About this material
Answers describe what the published research examines and where the evidence is limited. They are not claims of any effect; this material is supplied for laboratory research use only.
What is NAD+?
NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a coenzyme -- a small helper molecule that every cell uses to carry electrons during energy metabolism. It is not a peptide. It is supplied here as an analytical-grade reference material for laboratory research use only.
Is NAD+ a peptide?
No. NAD+ is a dinucleotide coenzyme built from vitamin B3 and other building blocks, not a chain of amino acids. It is grouped with research peptides here only because it shows up so often in the same metabolism and aging research.
How do NMN and NR relate to NAD+?
NMN (nicotinamide mononucleotide) and NR (nicotinamide riboside) are precursors that cells convert into NAD+. Much of the human research aimed at raising NAD+ actually uses these precursors, because they are easier for cells to take up.
Is NAD+ proven to slow aging in people?
No. NAD+ clearly declines with age and its cellular roles are well understood, but whether raising it changes human aging is unresolved. Early precursor trials point mainly to reasonable safety rather than demonstrated anti-aging benefit.
How is VNG Labs' NAD+ supplied and tested?
MOTS-c is provided as an analytical-grade, lyophilized reference material for laboratory research use only, with third-party testing (Vanguard) for identity and purity. It is not a drug or supplement and is not intended for human or veterinary use.
